Weekend University: Poverty
Join us for a conversation led by presenters from Vibrant Communities Calgary where we'll be looking at the realities and opportunities for involvement with poverty in Calgary. We'll also look at what it means to be a 'global citizen,' in a discussion led by the Calgary Centre for Global Community: What does it look like to use a humanistic approach to address poverty and injustice? How can our choices and engagement with people and communities, both locally and globally, work to make positive change in the world? And finally, we'll have various members of our community, who are engaged in poverty alleviation, development, and justice initiatives available to speak about their work and the opportunities to get involved.
This is a free event on March 18 1:30PM-4:00 PM at Kensington Commons.
