Intro & Bible Story— Bible Story Leader — 5 minutes
Today we are starting a brand new video series which will be a sports show! In the sports show there will be a special guest, a coach, who will share an important message with us. Let’s watch our video to see what it’s all about…
Video Lesson — 5 minutes
Follow Up Discussion — Bible Story Leader — 5 minutes
What was the big lesson that the coach shared with us?
Can someone tell me what it means to be rejected? Have you ever had that happen to you before?
Can you remember from the video what happened to Jesus when he went to teach in his hometown? How did he handle that?
What is something you can remember when you feel left out by others?
Prayer — Bible Story Leader — 1 minute
“Dear God, thank you for the lesson we learned today about how we can be strong and confident even when we are feeling left out. Just like Jesus kept his head up high when he was not accepted by the people in his hometown, we can also keep our head up, because we know that we are loved and accepted by you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Craft: Ancient Scroll — Activity Leader — 7 minutes
Kids will make an ancient scroll with the verses that Jesus read in the text.
The verse will be pre-written on a piece of paper, and kids can go through the process of aging the paper by crumpling it, ripping the edges, and painting it with coffee. They can tape or glue chopsticks to either side of the paper to roll up into a scroll and tie with twine.
If a child is not interested in the activity, allow them to move to free play.
