INTRODUCTION TO EUCHARIST
By Scott Wall

As part of our worship today, I want to invite you to gather around the Eucharist table with us.
We come from our varied experiences in this season of Lent, our success and failure, our celebration and grief, our optimism and our fatigue and we are presented with simple bread and a grape. In these, as the children of God we join together and acknowledge our common weakness and, we also acknowledge our common search for mercy and renewal, which we confess as being found in the Lord Jesus.

In coming forward today we step out from where we are and where we've been and onto a path toward God's embrace. And in doing so we find that, as one author (priest and theologian Alexander Schmemann) puts it, "The liturgy of the Eucharist is best understood as a journey or procession…It is not an escape from the world, rather it is the arrival at a vantage point from which we can see more deeply into the reality of the world.”

So whether you've been on the journey for some time...maybe you've recently discovered the Divine in Christ...maybe you're curious and intently searching...maybe you're unsure of what to make of it all...

As you come, may you see and experience God's goodness toward you in this moment. As you come, may you see your sorrow and whatever challenge you face in the light of his mercy. As you come...may thankfulness be found in your heart and on your lips.

Come journey with Christ today.

PRAYER
By Kevin Borst
God of love, Wherever we find ourselves today... may we know that you are constant with your love and you never give up on us. Thank you God for always staying the same.
In your name we pray,
Amen.
