Annual general meeting.

March 19, 2026, 6PM

With 2025 in the books, and as we look ahead to an even more exciting 2026, we want to gather for the Annual General Meeting of Commons Church.

Along with reports from our various staff and committees, we will review the 2025 audited financials and approve the budget for the coming year.

This year, dinner will be provided. We will eat together at 6:00 and then shift into the business to conclude by 7:45 PM.

Childcare will be provided. You're welcome to join us whether you are a voting member or a friend of Commons.

  • Members must do this every year, and it is part of our process for keeping our membership roll up to date. If you are a member, you can activate your membership using the link below or simply by registering for this year’s AGM.

  • One of the best places to get started at Commons is First steps, a four-part class designed to get you up and running as quickly as possible at Commons and to take you all the way through to a membership application if you’ve decided to make Commons home.

  • Our nomination committee is appointed by the board and has representation from staff, board and community. This committee will receive nominations, vet nominees, and interview candidates for the position(s) based on the specific needs of the board in any given year. The nomination Committee is tasked with ensuring that the board:

    a. maintains a gender balance
    b. is representative of the community’s diversity of ages, orientations, ethnicities, etc.
    c. has a member with appropriate financial background to the scale of the organization
    d. has a member with appropriate board experience
    e. has a member with relevant charity/non-profit experience where possible
    f. has a member with HR experience where possible

    There are also spiritual requirements of board members. These are described in the Leadership Team Qualifications section of the Constitution and By-Laws (see pg. 21-22).
