EUCHARIST INVITATION
by Bobbi Salkeld
Here at Commons we practice an open table, which means all are welcome to participate.
The elements of the Lord’s Supper are tangible elements. As we eat the bread and crush the grape, we are reminded of how our brokenness is transformed into new life in Christ.
In Jesus, we see body and spirit united and whole. And so, we prepare our hearts and bodies to eat together. We remember the last meal Jesus ate with his friends, how he blessed them by serving them, and how he calls us to do the same for each other.

Hear this invitation.
Come to this table, not because you must but because you may,
not because you are strong, but because you are weak.
Come, not because any goodness of your own gives you a right to come,
but because you need mercy and help.
Come, because you love the Lord a little and would like to love God more.
Come, because God loves you and Christ died for you.
Come and meet the risen Christ, for we are Jesus’ body.

Let us pray.
Loving God,
We give you thanks.
You are our maker, our home, our safe place.
You are our comfort, our hope, and our justice.
For the life we have in you
And the life you call us to live
We ask for your help, your healing, your purpose.
We need your love, your forgiveness, your grace. God of power and might,
The whole earth is full of your glory.
At this table, we come together with our differences And we need not be afraid.
AMEN.
