EUCHARIST INVITATION
By Bobbi Salkeld
Jesus calls us to meet with God in the elements of this meal –
The earth has given us the bread and grapes
Kneaded and broken for the feast that shapes our imagination of God’s work in the world.

Jesus calls us to confess our failings and missteps at this table –
We are not turned away
We are welcomed, forgiven, and sent out to live our lives in love and compassion.

Jesus calls us to honour each other in this sacramental supper –
In Christ, there are no divisions. All are brother, sister, and friend of the Savior. The faithful and the doubter are on equal ground on the path to know God.

Hear the invitation:
Come to this table, not because you must but because you may,
Not because you are strong, but because you are weak.
Come, not because any goodness of your own gives you a right to come, But because you need mercy and help.
Come, because you love the Lord a little and would like to love God more. Come, because God loves you and Christ died for you.
Come and meet the risen Christ, for we are Jesus’ body.

Loving God,
Through your goodness
We enjoy the meal of your presence
We celebrate the life that Jesus shares
As your church, we are not alone
Your Spirit brings heaven and earth together And your beauty stretches on forever.
AMEN.
