What should I expect on Sunday?
We host our service in Marda Loop at 1030AM every Sunday beginning September 20, 2026!
Our services last 70 minutes. You can trust us to begin and end right on time. We start with some singing. Words are projected on screens so you can sing along if you like. Our music is a mix of upbeat and traditional, and you'll hear hymns alongside new arrangements and artists. Often, we will participate together in a liturgical element designed to connect us with the ancient roots of the Christian tradition. This might be something like reading a creed together or participating in the Eucharist (sometimes called the Lord's Supper or Communion).
Next, we have a coffee break so parents can check their kids into the appropriate classroom. We’ll all have a chance to greet friends and grab some caffeine.
After this, we have a 30-minute sermon where we engage scripture together, and kids have their own lesson in their respective areas. If you ever need someone to pray with you, that is also available after every service.
Whether you're young or old, from any ethnicity, or have varying levels of familiarity with the Christian tradition, you are welcome here. Our inclusive and low-key atmosphere is designed to make everyone feel at home.
Where do I park?
Street parking in the neighbourhood is free. We have also arranged parking at the Marda Loop Community Association just across 30 Ave. Signs will be up to direct you on Sundays.
Is there programming for my Kids?
Yes! Full programming for children ages newborn through grade 6 will be available during the service. Children remain with their parents during the singing portion of the service and check into their classrooms at the coffee break.
To keep our kids safe, we use a check-in system to allow only you to pick up your child. If you're visiting, one of our volunteers can help you register your children. If you've checked in before, just type your phone number on the self-check-in iPads, and they will print a drop-off tag for you.
Will I be asked for money?
Short answer: no. We never want generosity to be an uncomfortable experience, so we do not pass an offering plate or ask for donations in the service. However, our Church is only able to operate because of the generosity of those who attend. There are boxes at the back of the room if you do want to give, and you can make a contribution at your convenience online if you'd ever like to. See www.commons.church/donate for details.
Accessibility?
Our Marda Loop facility was built in the 1920s, and we have taken steps to make it more accessible. We have added a new accessible entrance with a ramp and an accessible gender-neutral bathroom on the main floor. Children’s classrooms are all accessible on the main floor as well.
