Nature & Scope

The Operations Director serves as the point person to drive all of our organizational needs relating to finances and facilities. They will oversee bookkeeping (although this can be outsourced) and coordinate with auditors. They will hire and manage custodial staff and rental relationships. They will work with ministry staff to facilitate regular and special events onsite. The role will be based out of our Kensington Parish but will work across Parish locations as those opportunities return post-COVID.

There is flexibility in how this position can be structured to work around specific skills or weekly hour commitments. 

Key Job Functions 

1. Finance (35%)

1.1 Manage bookkeeping services.
1.2 Coordinate with the Auditing firm.
1.3 Prepare budget and board documents.
1.4 Ensure filing of all CRA required documentation.

2. Facility (35%)

2.1 Manage custodial staff and services.
2.2 Maintain facilitate upkeep and repair schedule.
2.3 Support rental relationships and necessary supports.
2.4 Ensure support coverage for all calendar events.

3. Community (20%)

3.1 Work with ministry staff to maximize the use of the facility. 
3.2 Coordinate timing of events.
3.3 Participate in large event planning and execution.

4. General Responsibilities (10%)

4.1 Maintain a healthy relationship with God that exemplifies a disciplined plan of personal worship including; prayer, study, and financial generosity.
4.2 Love and care for family and friends.
4.3 Maintain a continuing education plan for skill building and self-improvement.
4.4 Be actively involved in the life of the church.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

1. A functional understanding of Quickbooks online. 
2. Ability to learn internal software systems.
3. Desire to equip and release key leaders.
4. Demonstrated ability to plan ahead and communicate with clarity.
5. Experience with designing and implementing systems and structures including familiarity with the necessary technology.

1. Monthly budget reports and forecasts.
2. Increased rental relationships.
3. Evaluation from Lead Pastor

Reports To 

The Operation Director is expected to work with a minimum of supervision. Regular meetings with the Lead Pastor and staff Leadership meetings as scheduled will be used for reporting and tracking.

Working Conditions and Benefits

Up to a full-time position: Expectation 40 hrs

Vacation:  rest appropriately* 

* Salary staff are expected to manage their own work schedules and take appropriate vacation, mental health, and sick days at their discretion. Days off must be recorded and any absence of more than two days must be pre-approved by your supervisor but you are not limited to a specific number of days.

Benefits and pension contributions are provided by the employer.


As noted above we will also be hiring part-time bookkeeping and custodial services.
