Bible Roadmap Course
IN THIS LESSON
In the aftermath of resurrection, Jesus’ friends and followers started to reflect on what it all meant. They remembered what Jesus taught and how he lived. And they began to understand the cosmic implications of his story.
We conclude the course by examining the post-resurrection scenes in the Christian scriptures, how the early Church spread around the ancient Mediterranean, and the social surroundings that shaped early Christian apocalyptic imagery.
We pay particular attention to the book of Acts and the ways it circles back to the paradoxical promise of God to Abraham. We also take a look at the key characters of Peter and Paul.
Finally, we consider how the narrative of scripture does not end in violent apocalypse but with a vision of all things restored and renewed. We reflect on how important it is that we tell this story well.
