Lesson 7: Judging others.
Passage: Matthew 7:1-5 - Jesus taught his followers not to judge others or they would be judged by the same standard. They should focus on removing the plank in their own eyes before pointing out the speck of sawdust in someone else’s eyes, meaning that we should never judge others because we ourselves are not perfect.
Big Idea: We are not the judge of others.

What do you think are some of the reasons we shouldn’t judge?
Have you ever felt judged? What was that like?
What does Jesus say we should focus on more — what others are doing or what we’re doing?
Prayer — Bible Story Leader
Dear God, thank you for the lesson we learned today about not judging others and focusing on ourselves instead. Please help us become more gracious and forgiving when we see others making mistakes, since we usually don’t know the whole story and we can’t see their hearts. Please help us to think the best of others, knowing that it’s not our job to judge anyone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
