Lesson 7: Judging others.
Passage: Matthew 7:1-5 - Jesus taught his followers not to judge others or they would be judged by the same standard. They should focus on removing the plank in their own eyes before pointing out the speck of sawdust in someone else’s eyes, meaning that we should never judge others because we ourselves are not perfect.
Big Idea: We are not the judge of others.

Welcome — Leaders
Welcome the children to the classroom. Use this time to get to know each of the children’s names and let them know you are happy they are here today. Introduce yourselves and use the roster iPad to check-in each child.
Warm Up Activity: — Brain break Dice Game
Roll both dice, 1 die is for the action (hop on 1 foot, touch your toes etc) and the other die is for the amount of times they need do it. Do this together as a class until everyone has had a chance to roll the dice for the group.
Preliminary Discussion — Bible Story Leader
This summer we’ve been learning about Jesus’ big sermon and all the great lessons he taught from the side of a mountain.
Today we will be learning about what Jesus said about judging others.

When you see someone doing something wrong or making a mistake, what do you usually think about them?
Do you think that everyone makes mistakes sometimes? Do you ever make mistakes?

Dear God, thank you for the lesson we learned today about not judging others. Please help us to remember that everyone makes mistakes sometimes and it's not our job to judge them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Activity: — Play dough mats - Nature Scenes
Kids will use play dough to create art art on their play dough mats like flowers, leaves, bugs etc.
The play dough will remain in the classroom. (No physical craft will go home.)
If a child is not interested in the activity, allow them to move to free play.
Dismissal: Dismiss children using the roster iPad, making sure each child’s sticker matches their parents/care-giver.
