Lesson 6: Trusting in God’s care.
Passage: Matthew 6:25-34 - Jesus teaches his followers not to worry about daily needs like food or clothing, because life is more than these things and God knows what we need. He points to the birds, who do not plant or store food yet are fed by God, and to the flowers, which are beautifully clothed though they last only a short time. Instead of being anxious, we are to seek first God’s kingdom and righteousness, trusting that our needs will be provided for.
Big Idea: Letting tomorrow worry about itself.

Welcome Activity: — All Leaders
Have one leader greet the children with the iPad roster outside the classroom door. Check-in the children in your classroom as they arrive.
Have another leader invite the children in to sit in a circle on the circle time rug. Introduce yourselves.
Leader: “Good morning friends! It’s so nice to see you! We are glad you are here today. We are going to play a little game to get started today.
Warm Up Activity: Stand Up, Sit Down — Activity Leader
Kids will sit down or stand up based on the directions given. For example: “If you have siblings, stand up,” or “If you are the youngest of your siblings, sit down.”
A list of examples will be provided in the classroom.
Preliminary Discussion — Bible Story Leader
Today we will be learning more about what Jesus taught his followers from the side of a mountain. Today, Jesus’ message is all about worrying.
Do you ever worry about things? What kind of things make you feel worried?

Dear God, thank you for the lesson we learned today from Jesus about how we don’t need to worry about anything because we know that you love and care for us. Thank you for taking care of our needs every single day. Help us to always trust in you even when we feel worried, and remind us that you’re always with us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Leader: Alright friends I think we should get up and move around a bit before our craft can everybody stand up?
Body Break Activity: — Sing & Dance
Play ‘Brave’ from Worship Playlist.
Encourage Children to sing and do the actions
After the song finishes head to the craft tables for the activity.
Activity: Decorate the Donut craft — Activity Leader
Kids will use crayons to colour their donut.
Then they will use glue to stick on torn tissue paper, and craft pieces to their donut frosting.
If a child is not interested in the activity, allow them to move to free play.
Dismissal: Dismiss children manually with Roster iPad and make sure each child leaves with their caregiver.
