Commons in Kensington.
A Church is meant to belong to a neighbourhood.
Kensington Parish
A church rooted in the heart of the city.
Commons Church began in Kensington in 2014 with a simple hope: to create a community where people could explore the life and teachings of Jesus with honesty, curiosity, and grace.
Over the years, this parish has become home to people from every stage of life and every kind of faith journey. Some have followed Jesus for decades. Others are asking questions for the very first time. Many have found Commons after feeling disconnected from church and discovering there was room for both faith and doubt.
Today, Kensington continues to gather each Sunday while serving the neighbourhood we call home. We believe church is at its best when it is deeply rooted in a place—walking alongside neighbours, celebrating what makes a community flourish, and joining God's work of renewal in everyday life.
As Commons grows, Kensington remains one of our neighbourhood parishes. Together with Marda Loop, we share one vision, one teaching team, and one community, while each parish develops its own relationships, rhythms, and opportunities to serve its neighbourhood.
Whether Kensington becomes your long-term church home or simply a place to explore faith for a season, you're welcome here.
Life Together
Church is more than what happens on Sunday.
Throughout the week, you'll find people gathering around tables, serving our city, caring for one another, and growing together through groups, shared meals, prayer, and everyday friendships. We believe faith is formed not only in worship gatherings but in the ordinary moments of life shared together.
Our Neighbourhood
Kensington is one of Calgary's most vibrant neighbourhoods, full of local businesses, families, students, artists, and long-time residents. We love being part of its story and are committed to seeking the good of this community through hospitality, generosity, and service.
Part of Commons Church
Commons Church is becoming a network of neighbourhood parishes across Calgary. Rather than growing into a single larger gathering, we hope to become a family of local communities that share one vision while taking root in the neighbourhoods they call home.

Church has always been about more than sermons and information, it breathes in conversations as we invite each other deeply into our lives. So join in, share what you have and take a piece of what others around you are offering. And when you're ready, take your next steps.
